It is bordered by the community of Pacific Beach to the North, the Pacific Ocean to the West, Mission Bay to the East and the Mission Bay boat navigation channel to the South. While a few miles in length, Mission Beach averages just a few hundred yards in width from the Pacific Ocean to Mission Bay. What Mission Beach lacks in size, it makes up in fun. Running the length of Mission Beach on both the Pacific and bay sides are pedestrian walkways known as the boardwalk.
